Trabzonspor star Mo Salah faces lawsuit in Egypt over debt
The 14th Civil Circuit of the New Cairo Court of First Instance has ordered former Liverpool star Mohamed Salah to appear in person in a civil lawsuit by his former lawyer for unpaid legal fees.
The Cairo civil court has scheduled a hearing for the Egyptian international in case number 7826 of 2025.
The lawsuit was filed by his lawyer, Amr Faragallah Morsi Abdel-Tawab, claiming that Salah owes him for legal services he provided in previous years.
According to reports, the court wants the Trabzonspor player to take a decisive oath, denying the claims that he received any legal or consulting services, as claimed by the lawyer in the lawsuit.
This oath under Egyptian civil procedure is used to resolve a legal dispute, allowing one party to ask the opposing party to swear before the court regarding disputed facts.
The lawyer’s lawsuit was filed in September 2025, alleging that the footballer owes him for his administrative and consulting services performed under a general power of attorney, which he handled on the footballer’s behalf from 2012 to August 2025.
During the preliminary ruling of the case, Salah was absent.
The lawyer is seeking compensation for handling materials and moral damages, as well as expenses he covered for handling the work.
The legal battle comes days after Salah began his new journey with Turkish side Trabzonspor on a two-year deal.
However, he will be able to make his debut for the club on August 15, but will miss Trabzonspor’s match against Genclerbirligi on the date of the hearing.
