Transporters commend Nigerian military for securing Kaduna-Abuja highway

Transporters in Kaduna state have hailed the Armed Forces of Nigeria for checkmating activities of bandits and kidnappers along the Kaduna-Abuja expressway.
The executive director, Ayudantes Empowerment Initiative (AEI), Amechi Oyema, in a statement on Sunday, said the transporters gave the commendation during a recent peace and development sensitisation by the group in Kaduna.
Mr Oyema said the sensitisation was conducted on Friday at Rigasa, Central Market, Kano Road, Barkin Ruwa bypass and Abuja park, all in Kaduna city.
He said the transporters commended the military under the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, for making life unbearable for the criminals along the route.
According to him, the transporters had during the sensitisation, commended troops for the interception of the terrorists who attempted to migrate from Alawa Forest in Niger to Birnin Gwari in Kaduna state.
“The transporters lamented that the activities of the criminals on the route and other areas in the state have affected their business and economic development.
“They appealed to the military to ensure that they comb the bushes to fish out the kidnappers and their conspirators.
“The transporters welcomed the sensitisation campaign, saying it is a step in building support for the troops of the military who are not relenting in returning peace and stability not only to Kaduna but the entire North-West.
“The peace and development sensitisation has so far taken Ayudantes Empowerment Initiative to Lagos, Keffi and Kaduna,” he said.
