Troops neutralise IEDs planted along Zamfara road
Troops of Fansan Yamma have recovered and neutralised improvised explosive devices (IEDs) planted by terrorists along the Magami-Hannutara-Dansadau road in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
In a statement on Friday, the Nigerian Army said the troops conducted a thorough search of the area after receiving credible intelligence and identified two locations where explosive devices had been planted.
“The troops, acting on credible information, secured the affected area and conducted a thorough search and identified two spots planted with explosive devices,” the army said.
The army said an explosive ordnance disposal team was subsequently deployed to destroy one device and safely recover and render the other harmless.
It added that the troops had intensified patrols and surveillance in the area to protect residents and prevent further threats.
The army urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious objects or activities to the nearest security agency.
