Two men in court for alleged theft of N4 million car

Two men, Quadri Oyekunle, 29, and Akeem Beyioku, 34, were on Thursday arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, Oyo State, over an alleged theft of a vehicle valued at N4 million.
The defendants whose residential addresses were not disclosedwere charged with conspiracy and theft to which they pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, ASP Olagoke Adegbenro, told the court that the offences were allegedly committed on May 12, at about 4:00 p.m. in the Apata area of Ibadan.
Mr Adegbenro alleged that the defendants stole a Toyota Camry belonging to the complainant, Oluwakayode Fadeyi.
According to him, the defendants unlawfully removed the vehicle from where it was parked without the owner’s consent.
He said the offences contravened the provisions of Sections 390(9) and 516 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
In her ruling, the Magistrate, Olasinmibo Sanusi, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N1 million each with two sureties each in like sum.
Mrs Sanusi ruled that the sureties must be the biological parents of the defendants, among other bail conditions.
The case was adjourned until June 30, for mention. (NAN)
