U.S. Midterm: Democrat Haley Stevens shocks party members, endorses Republican Mike Rogers

Ahead of U.S. Midterm elections scheduled for November 3, Democrat politician Haley Stevens, who lost the Senate primary to Abdul El-Sayed, has endorsed Republican Mike Rogers, stunning her party members.
After attending a Detroit church service with Mr Roger on Sunday, Ms Stevens endorsed the Republican Party candidate for the Senate seat, dumping Mr El-Sayed, who defeated her by a slim margin in the August primary.
“Our Democratic nominee for Senate said I was no longer welcome in his campaign and that I should stay away,” Ms Stevens said in a video announcing her endorsement for Mr Rogers. “And that’s why I am endorsing Mike Rogers for the United States Senate today.”
This comes as both parties ramp up campaigning for the midterm elections that will determine which party controls Congress for the remaining part of President Donald Trump’s administration.
