Professor Wahab Egbewole has been named the University of Ilorin’s new vice chancellor.

At a press conference conducted in the University’s Council chamber on Thursday evening, chairman of the Governing Council, Abidu Yasid, introduced Mr Egbewole as the new vice chancellor.

Mr Egbewole succeeds Professor Sulyman Abdulkareem, whose term will end on October 15, 2022, as the university’s 12th vice chancellor.

Mr Yasid said Mr Egbewole was found worthy after the council’s rigorous scrutiny of 13 lecturers over the course of the four days.

Mr Egbewole is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and a Professor of International Law and Jurisprudence.

He was born over five decades ago in Osun State where he had his primary, secondary and tertiary (LL. B and LL.M degrees) education. He attended the Nigerian Law School and was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 1985.
