1 Div. Army, Ordnance Corps deepen collaboration against banditry

He reaffirmed the division’s commitment to professionalism in the discharge of its constitutional responsibilities.

The commander, Corps Ordnance, Maj.-Gen. Abdullahi Ibrahim, has paid a courtesy visit to the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 1 Division l, Nigerian Army, Maj.-Gen. Abubakar Wase, at the Headquarters 1 Division, Kaduna.

Lt.-Col. Ajemasu Jingina, acting deputy director, Army Public Relations, 1 Div. Nigerian Army, Sector 1 Operation Fansan Yamma, said this in a statement on Saturday in Kaduna.

Mr Jingina said the visit, which took place at the Stallion Conference Room of the division on Friday, aimed at strengthening operational synergy and enhancing logistics support for ongoing operations in the North-West.

Mr Jingina said Mr Ibrahim commended the GOC, formation commanders and staff officers for their professionalism and dedication in the execution of Operation Fansan Yamma, stating that their commitment had contributed significantly to counter-banditry efforts across the region.

He emphasised the importance of maintaining an effective logistics cycle to ensure sustained combat readiness, adding that continuous assessment and timely interventions were necessary to meet the evolving needs of frontline troops.

The corps commander also lauded the leadership of the division for providing essential logistics support to sustain operations in the theatre.

In his response, Mr Wase, the 44th GOC of the division and Commander, Sector 1 Joint Task Force (North-West) Operation Fansan Yamma , appreciated the visit and reaffirmed the division’s commitment to professionalism and excellence in the discharge of its constitutional responsibilities.
