At least six people were killed when a 14-year-old student opened fire at Debsirin Nonthaburi School in Bang Kruai district, Nonthaburi, Thailand on Friday morning.

Local media reported on Friday that the shooter had killed his grandparents at his home in Bangkok before coming to the school to wreak havoc.

The police confirmed three teachers and three students were killed in the shooting, while more than 20 people were injured and are receiving treatment in the hospital.

National police spokesperson Trairong Phiwphan confirmed the suspected shooter is dead, and rescue efforts are ongoing.

This follows another school shooting incident in Thailand. In February, a teacher was killed and a student injured in a school shooting in southern Thailand’s Hat Yai district.

Similarly, in 2022, 36 people, including 24 children, were killed at a childcare centre in Thailand.
