15 die in crash on Jos-Bauchi highway

No fewer than 15 persons lost their lives in a fatal accident on the ever busy Jos-Bauchi highway Thursday night. Seven persons have critical injuries.

The accident involving a trailer with registration number DKD 32 XB and a commercial passenger bus with registration number YLA 984XA, occurred near Nabordo village.

The trailer belongs to the Dangote Group while the bus belongs to state-owned Adamawa Sunshine Transport Corporation.

According to the Federal Road Safety Corps, two females and 18 males were involved in the mishap.

The Corps said preliminary investigation showed the probable cause of the ghastly accident was loss of control, speed limit violation and dangerous driving.   

 Injured victims have been rushed to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital, Bauchi while corpses were deposited at the morgue by a combined  team of the Federal Road Safety officials and the police.
