Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip have claimed many lives on Wednesday, according to Palestinian media, as Israel pursues its offensive in Gaza City.

The WAFA news agency reported that 17 people were killed this morning, including seven in Gaza City.

The victims were reported to include a pregnant woman.

The Israeli army said it had attacked more than 150 targets in Gaza City over the past two days, including “terrorists and military structures.”

Israel has been conducting a major ground offensive in the city since Monday night.

The information was provided by the Israeli military and the WAFA news agency could not be independently verified.

An independent commission of inquiry of the UN Human Rights Council said on Tuesday that Israel was committing genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

Four of the five genocidal acts listed in the 1948 UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide have been carried out since October 7, 2023.

The three-member commission determined.

Israel denied the accusations of genocide, instead accusing Islamist group Hamas of genocide when it carried out the October 7, terrorist attacks.
