2023: AAC presidential candidate Sowore calls for donations towards campaign
Omoyele Sowore, presidential candidate of African Action Congress, has solicited for donations to prosecute his election in 2023.
In a short statement on his Facebook page on Sunday, Mr Sowore called on donors to contribute towards his campaign for “total liberation” of Nigeria, saying he does not believe in politics of godfathers and godmothers.
“We urge our people to own the campaign for TOTAL LIBERATION. We don’t believe in godfathers and godmothers,” Mr Sowore said.
“Support the #SoworeForPresident Presidential Campaign. DONATE TO: Omoyele Sowore Presidential Campaign Zenith Bank Account Number: 1006023871.”
With the appeal, Mr Sowore joins the likes of Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi and popular musician turned politician Banky W of Peoples Democratic Party, who have asked the public for donations to fund their campaigns.
A longstanding activist and media entrepreneur, Mr Sowore is contesting to be Nigeria’s president for the second time with major focus on disrupting Nigerian political landscape and “taking back” Nigeria from the claws of established oligarchs.
Mr Sowore said if elected his administration will be exploring the medicinal and industrial sales of marijuana as part of efforts to improve the economy and boost exportation.
