2023: Mammoth crowd welcomes Peter Obi, Datti in Jos as campaigns kick off
Labour Party faithful trooped out in their thousands on Wednesday to welcome the party’s presidential candidate Peter Obi and his running mate Yusuf Datti to Jos, the capital of Plateau state.
The rally which was organised by the Middle Belt Forum comes as national campaigns for the 2023 general elections officially kicked off on Wednesday, per INEC timetable.
Shouts of “Obi! Obi!!” rented the air as the presidential candidate and his entourage arrived at the Rwang Pam township stadium for the rally.
Mr Obi had earlier hinted of his plan to honour the invitation of the Middle Belt Forum who organised the rally in solidarity with his ambition.
“Honouring the Middle Belt Forum invitation for the solidarity rally is a good avenue for him to discuss issues of national interests with like minds in the state,” he had said on Twitter.
