2026 Hajj: Kano to begin airlift of intending pilgrims May 14

The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board says it will commence the airlift of intending pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj on May 14.
This is contained in a statement issued to journalists by the board’s Public Relations Officer, Sulaiman Dederi, on Monday in Kano.
Mr Dederi quoted the Director-General of the board, Abubakar Ibrahim-Matawalle, as disclosing this at the closing ceremony of the Hajj Induction Course held at the School for Arabic Studies, Kano.
According to the D-G, the date is in line with the schedule released by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
“Max Air has been designated as the official carrier for the state.
“The board has completed all necessary arrangements to ensure a smooth and successful Hajj operation,” he said.
Earlier, the chairman of the board, Yusuf Lawan, urged intending pilgrims to regularly study their induction materials for a better understanding of Hajj rites.
He also advised them to strictly adhere to the rules and regulations of both Nigerian and Saudi Arabian authorities throughout the pilgrimage.
