2026: Traders’ unions, artisans endorse Adeleke for second term

Traders’ unions and artisans in Osun State under the aegis of “The People’s First Movement” on Thursday endorsed Governor Ademola Adeleke for a second term in office.
The group’s coordinator, Ayoade Lukman, at the endorsement in Osogbo, said it was to appreciate the governor for his achievements in the last three years in the state.
He stated, “In the last three years, he has done well, especially in infrastructural development. We score him 100 per cent because he has excelled beyond people’s expectations. In the beginning, people thought he could never perform, but he proved them wrong.’’
Mr Lukman also said that despite the paucity of funds, the governor executed various projects and also performed well in other sectors.
He stated, “He has done well in other sectors too, which is why we came here to endorse him for a second term. It is not good to change a winning team; we want him to continue his job.’’
Responding, Mr Adeleke said he accepted the endorsement and vowed to continue serving the people diligently and honestly.
The governor stated that with the endorsement, he would redouble his efforts to deliver the dividends of democracy and good governance to the people.
He stated, “The aspirations of the Osun people will continue to be my guide. The confidence you reposed in me will continue to be my motivation and a much-needed support base. I thank you for this open expression of love. Our administration has always demonstrated people-centred governance. We have upscaled critical sectors of the state and attended to the needs of all categories of society. Our government is truly a people’s government.’’
