2026 World Cup: Ghana, England draw, Croatia beat Panama

The Black Stars of Ghana on Tuesday improved their chances of qualifying for the round of 32 by holding the Three Lions of England to a goalless draw in their second 2026 World Cup Group L match at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts, United States.
England was dominant with the ball for most of the match but failed to break down the African team’s compact and disciplined backline. Notable chances for the European side included a Nico O’Reilly header that hit the crossbar and Harry Kane failing to hit the target from a rebound.
In the group’s other match day two fixture, Josip StaniÅ¡ić picked out Ante Budimir, who fired home a 54th-minute strike to help Croatia pip Panama 1-0 and secure a hard-fought three points at the BMO Field in Toronto, Canada.
Ghana are now second in the group with four points, the same as first-placed England but separated by goal difference. Croatia are third with three points, while bottom-placed Panama have yet to pick up a point.
The group’s final games, billed for Saturday, will see Ghana face Croatia and England square up against Panama.
