2026 World Cup: Haaland’s Norway neutralise Neymar’s Brazil to reach quarter-final

With a brace from Erling Haaland, Norway downed Brazil in the round of 16 by two goals to one. Haaland has now scored seven goals in the tournament, level with Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi in the race for the adidas Golden Boot.
Bruno Guimaraes’s penalty was saved by Orjan Nyland.
Haaland’s first goal was a header smashed past Alisson, and the superstar footballer scored his second goal of the night in the 90th minute.
A late Neymar penalty, in the tenth minute of stoppage time, could not save Brazil from exiting the tournament.
Norway will now face England on July 11.
