2027: Bala Mohammed dumps PDP, joins APM

The move followed a closed-door meeting with key stakeholders.

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), defecting to the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).

The governor defected alongside members loyal to the Tanimu Turaki-led faction on Saturday.

His defection was announced at the Bauchi Government House, where he was flanked by the national chairman of the APM, Yusuf Dantalle.

The move followed a closed-door meeting with key stakeholders.

Mr Mohammed also declared his intention to contest the Bauchi South Senatorial District seat in the 2027 general elections.
