2027: INEC commences display of presidential, NASS candidates’ particulars in Lagos

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Lagos State will on Saturday commence the display of Form EC9 (Affidavit in Support of Personal Particulars) submitted by candidates sponsored by political parties for the 2027 Presidential, Senatorial and House of Representatives elections.
The commission announced this in a statement issued on Friday by the Head of Department, Voter Education and Publicity (VEP), Esther Emeh.
It said the exercise was in line with the provisions of Section 29 of the Electoral Act, 2022.
According to the commission, the exercise is intended to enable registered political parties, nominated candidates, stakeholders and members of the public to inspect the personal particulars submitted by candidates.
It said that the Forms EC9, containing the candidates’ personal particulars, credentials and affidavits, would be displayed at the INEC Lagos State Headquarters in Sabo-Yaba.
The commission added that the forms would also be displayed at the respective Local Government Area offices within the affected constituencies.
INEC urged members of the public to take advantage of the exercise by examining the documents submitted by candidates.
The commission further encouraged the public to report any suspected irregularities through the legal channels provided by law.
It added, “Members of the public are encouraged to inspect the documents. Any person who believes that a candidate has submitted false information or forged documents may seek legal redress as provided by the Electoral Act.”
Reaffirming its commitment to the electoral process, the commission assured Nigerians of its resolve to uphold transparency and accountability.
“The Commission remains committed to transparency, accountability, and the conduct of free, fair, and credible elections,” INEC said.
