2027: INEC to conclude CVR second phase in Oyo on Friday

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Oyo State says the second phase of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) will be concluded on Friday.
A statement issued on Thursday in Ibadan by the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the state, Adeniran Tella, said that the display of claims and objections would follow from April 20 to April 26.
Mr Tella said this was in line with the commission’s CVR timetable.
The REC explained that the preliminary display of the register would take place in all INEC offices across the 33 local government areas of the state between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
He explained that the display of the register was intended to enable members of the public to check, verify, and confirm their biometric details on the register, “and have the same corrected if captured incorrectly”.
Mr Tella further said that the exercise was also meant for those who applied for transfer, correction of personal details, or replacement of lost/damaged Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs).
“Affected individuals should visit the display centre to confirm if their requests have been duly effected, as the exercise cannot be done by proxy”, he said.
The REC urged all eligible citizens to take full advantage of the opportunity in order to ensure the accuracy and credibility of the voters’ register.
According to him, the claims and objections must be made within the stipulated period, as no request would be entertained after the expiration of the exercise.
