Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has boasted that it is difficult for anyone to defeat President Bola Tinubu in the FCT in 2027 based on his developments projects which he claimed had impacted citizens’ lives.

Mr Wike, who stated this while addressing some residents in Kubwa during an inspection tour on Wednesday, urged residents to continue to support Mr Tinubu’s policies.

“It is very difficult for anybody to win an election in the FCT against Mr. President,” the minister stated. “Because to them, it is surprising what they have seen in their lives.”

Citing massive infrastructure development especially in rural and satellite communities in the FCT, Mr Wike noted that the level of transformation under Mr Tinubu-led administration had won the confidence of the people.

“We were told clearly that there is over-concentration of development in the city, and we must go to the satellite towns. These communities are part of Abuja, and their lives must also change”, he stated.

The minister further expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of ongoing projects, adding residents’ reactions across communities visited reflected the positive impact of the government’s interventions.

“You can see the happiness of the people. When the people are happy, you have no choice but to be happy,” he said.

Noting that several projects inspected in Karu, Apo – Kashi and Bwari to Kubwa, including major corridors spanning up to 30 kilometres, highlighted Mr Tinubu’s commitment to massive infrastructural development, the minister insisted improved road networks would reduce travel time and ease movement between satellite towns and the city centre.

He stated, “When I went to these areas, you could see that people had never witnessed this kind of infrastructure before. Now, economic activities will improve, and their lives will change.

“People can now live in places like Kuje and get to work in the city within 25 minutes. That is the kind of impact we are talking about,” the politician stated.

Mr Wike called for unity and continued support for the government, noting that national development requires collective effort.

“This is a period for everyone to work together and support the government. The focus is on improving Nigeria, particularly in the area of security,” the minister added.
