2027: Nigerians must vote for Tinubu to avoid war; Yorubas who don’t will ‘perish’, Portable warns

Singer Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has threatened that Nigerians should vote for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election or risk perishing in war.
In a viral video on Sunday, the music threatened that Nigeria would be plunged into civil war should they oppose Mr Tinubu’s re-election.
“If you don’t want war in Nigeria, follow Tinubu. For it not to be another Iran and America war, follow Tinubu,” Portable said.
While assuring his fans and followers that he will buy them oil, pepper, and noodles, Portable said, “It is Yoruba for second term. Any Yoruba who refuses to follow Tinubu will perish, will be killed by thunder. My fans vote for Tinubu in 2027.”
Oluseyi Babaseyi, the police spokesperson in Ogun State, where Portable resides, asked Peoples Gazette to furnish him with the video in which Portable made the threat.
“I’m accessing what you sent to me,” Babaseyi told The Gazette before hanging up. He did not pick up subsequent calls, seeking comments on Portable’s threat.
Portable’s threat comes as another violent campaign narrative circulating among supporters of Mr Tinubu’s re-election bid as the official campaign season draws near.
Last week, Sunday ‘Igboho’ Adeyemo, a pro-Yoruba nation agitator, threatened opposition candidates, Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, against campaigning in South-West Nigeria.
