The Tinubu Support Group (TSG) says it will massively mobilise votes in the South-South region for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

Senator Williams Eteng, the deputy director-general of TSG, South-South, made the expression in an interview with journalists in Calabar on Monday.

Mr Eteng, who represents Cross River Central at the National Assembly, said the group would embark on an aggressive grassroots mobilisation campaign across the region.

He said the campaign would be taken to the doorsteps of people across all communities and local government areas in the region.

The senator said that Mr Tinubu’s projects and interventions in the South-South had made the group’s task of mobilising support for him easier.

He particularly commended Mr Tinubu for the reconstruction work on the Calabar-Itu Highway.

“This road has been an unresolved challenge that faced successive administrations for more than 15 years.

“As I speak with you, we are back to the good old days where you can drive from Calabar to Akwa Ibom with ease,” he said.

Mr Eteng also identified the ongoing Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway as a major project for which the region should appreciate the president.

“We need to use our votes to appreciate the president for all the projects and interventions in the region,” he said.

Recall that Mr Eteng’s appointment as deputy DG of TGS, South-South was conveyed in a letter dated September 19, and signed by the group’s convener, James Faleke.

According to the letter, the appointment is in recognition of Mr Eteng’s leadership experience, professional accomplishments, grassroots engagement, and commitment to national development.

As deputy DG, Mr Eteng is expected to support the coordination and mobilisation of TSG activities across the South-South region.

He is also expected to work with relevant stakeholders to advance the objectives of the organisation and promote the president’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
