The Young Progressives Party (YPP), on Monday, inaugurated its new Lagos State secretariat and welcomed new members ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The party said the development marked a significant step towards strengthening its structures and expanding its political influence across Lagos.

The inauguration attracted party leaders, stakeholders, grassroots mobilisers and newly admitted members from different parts of the state.

Speaking at the event, YPP Board of Trustees member and presidential candidate, Olajide Filani, said the party was committed to rescuing Nigeria through purposeful leadership.

Mr Filani said the YPP had established a solid structure capable of driving national growth, economic development and inclusive governance.

According to him, the party remains focused on providing Nigerians with a credible alternative anchored on discipline, accountability and sustainable development.

“The YPP is systematically structured to rescue this nation and put it firmly on the path of genuine growth and economic development.

“Our commitment is to build a system that delivers inclusive governance and creates opportunities for every Nigerian, irrespective of background or political affiliation.

“The influx of experienced political leaders into our party today is a clear indication that our message is resonating across the political spectrum.

“It also shows that Nigerians desire genuine change,” Mr Filani said.

Addressing members on behalf of the party leadership, Mr Filani said the YPP remained committed to strengthening its structures and expanding its grassroots support base across Lagos.

He said the new secretariat represented more than a physical office, describing it as the operational hub for the party’s activities in Lagos.

“This secretariat is more than a building. It is a symbol of our operational readiness and determination to deepen democratic participation across Lagos State.

“We are bringing together seasoned political operatives and young progressive minds to build a platform that truly serves the interests of the people.

“Our objective is to create a disciplined political movement that will inspire confidence and deliver a new direction for Nigeria,” Mr Filani added.

The presidential candidate urged the new members to remain committed to the party’s ideals and work diligently to strengthen its structures in their respective wards.

He said unity, discipline and grassroots mobilisation would remain critical to the party’s future electoral success.

Mr Filani expressed confidence that the growing support for the YPP would translate into improved electoral performance in future elections.

Speaking on behalf of the new members, Oludare Falade, said they joined the party because of its strong belief in young people and the peace within its ranks.

“Our trust, confidence and faith in this party are because of its belief in the youth population. The peace within the party is also a motivation.

“We assure the leadership of our determination to stand by the party and promote its ideals across the state ahead of the 2027 elections,” Mr Mr Falade said.
