A 24-year-old pregnant Brazilian mother has been found dead with her genitals dismembered and her stomach severed open in the Portal dos Lagos area of Brazil.

Pregnant with her fourth child, the victim and mother of three, Ohana Karolin was killed on Wednesday and her mutilated body discovered by passers-by in an area surrounded by evangelical churches.

Reacting to the incident, the police linked the victim’s death to a ritual killing known as macabre ritual in Brazil.

Officers at the scene stated that the victim was wearing a T-shirt and a pair of flip flops with a number of coins placed next to her dismembered body.

After arriving at the scene, contact was made with the former husband to come and identify the victim’s body before proper investigations commenced into the case.

A close friend to the deceased Ms Ohana disclosed that the victim recently got into an unwanted acquaintance with gangs.

“She met a kind of tough gang. I even moved away from her a little bit because of that. But I don’t know what happened. She was really nice, she didn’t have a bad time. Everyone liked her,” the close friend said.

Also, another friend who is familiar with the victim claimed to have seen Ms Ohana at the scene of the incident before her death, she further stressed that the victim was in a black car, around 3:00 a.m. on the day of the crime.

Following statements from a few witnesses, the police launched an investigation into the incident while waiting for a follow up analysis from the Legal Medical Institute and the Institute of Criminalistics.

The incident was in turn registered as a homicide at the Mogi Gacau General Investigations police.
