46-year-old man arraigned for allegedly stealing N5.3 million spaghetti

A 46-year-old man, Saheed Ayomide, was on Friday arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing 305 packs of spaghetti valued at N5.3 million.
Mr Ayomide was arraigned before Magistrate Lateef Owolabi in Ikeja on a one-count charge of stealing.
The prosecutor, Josephine Ikhayere, told the court that the defendant committed the offence between July 27 and August 3, while in transit within the Ikeja Magisterial District.
The prosecutor alleged that the defendant stole 305 packs of spaghetti valued at N5.3 million, property of GPC Energy and Logistics Limited, located at 4B Regina Coker St., Ikeja, Lagos.
She said the offence contravened Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The judge granted him bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He ordered that one of the sureties must meet the required tax condition and adjourned the case until September 22 for further proceedings.
