The Federal Road Safety Corps has deployed 600 personnel to ensure a hitch-free Eid-el-Kabir celebration across Niger.

This is disclosed in a statement by the sector commander, A’ishat Sa’adu, on Monday.

Ms Sa’adu said the special operation would cover major highways across Niger, beginning Monday.

She added that the command had also mobilised 12 patrol vehicles, one tow truck, and three ambulances to support the operation.

According to her, the deployment is designed to ensure free flow of traffic, provide prompt rescue services, and enhance the safety of road users before, during, and after the festive period.

Ms Sa’adu stressed the need for collaboration with other security agencies to safeguard lives and property throughout the celebration.

The sector commander advised motorists to obey traffic rules, avoid speeding, and shun driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

“Motorists and other road users are advised to obey all traffic rules and regulations, avoid speeding, and refrain from driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs so that they can arrive at their destinations alive,” Ms Sa’adu stated.
