The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, says the full scope development of 8.6-kilometre highway 105, from Airport Expressway to Kuke Junction, Stage 1, is 73 per cent completed.

Mr Wike stated this after inspecting the project along with the ongoing 13-kilometre Kuje to Gwagwalada Dual Carriageway in Abuja on Wednesday.

He expressed optimism that the project, which was awarded to Arab Contractors on February 2, 2022, with a 48-month expected delivery timeline, would be completed in May.

He expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality delivery of the project, which he described as key to President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

He pointed out that the project, when completed, would ease traffic flow from Airport Expressway to Kuje and, in the long run, boost economic activities, reduce travel time and improve the quality of life of the people.

Speaking on the Kuje to Gwagwalada Dual Carriageway, the minister equally expressed satisfaction with the delivery, which he said was already 65 per cent completed.

He stated, “I’m quite impressed. You know that the airport-to-Kuje road is one of the roads that is very key for us.

“Then from Kuje to Gwagwalada, we are impressed with the level of work done so far. Like the contractor has said, God willing, by the first week of June or the end of June, we would have inaugurated this project.

“It’s a very important project so that you don’t need to go through the airport road if you are going to Gwagwalada or from Gwagwalada to town. We are very happy with what we have seen.”
