Gbenga Daniel wins APC Ogun East senatorial ticket

Former governor of Ogun State, Gbenga Daniel, has won the Ogun East senatorial primary elections of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a landslide win, Mr Daniel polled 450 votes out of 483 to defeat three other opponents including Lekan Mustapha, former Deputy-Governor, Segun Adesegun, and Seyi Oduntan who is rumoured to be incumbent Governor Dapo Abiodun’s anointed candidate. Â
Mr Mustapha scored 26 votes leaving Messrs Oduntan and Adesegun with 11 and six votes respectively.
Mr Daniel decamped from the Peoples Democratic Party in February, after being a member of the party for almost two decades and was elected governor twice on PDP’s platform.
