Former governor of Ogun State, Gbenga Daniel, has won the Ogun East senatorial primary elections of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a landslide win, Mr Daniel polled 450 votes out of 483 to defeat three other opponents including Lekan Mustapha, former Deputy-Governor, Segun Adesegun, and Seyi Oduntan who is rumoured to be incumbent Governor Dapo Abiodun’s anointed candidate.

Mr Mustapha scored 26 votes leaving Messrs Oduntan and Adesegun with 11 and six votes respectively.

Mr Daniel decamped from the Peoples Democratic Party in February, after being a member of the party for almost two decades and was elected governor twice on PDP’s platform.
