NPFL: Wikki Tourists beat Abia Warriors 1-0

Wikki Tourists Football Club of Bauchi on Saturday beat visiting Abia Warriors Football Club 1-0 at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium (ATBS), Bauchi.
The game was Match Day 30 of the 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
Wikki Tourists started the match with energy and brightly Fuad Ekelejuote scored the first and only goal within 32 minutes of the match.
The two teams both got chances, but in spite of efforts and resilience demonstrated by both teams, no additional goal and no equaliser was recorded by the end of the match.
In a post match interview, Abia Warriors Senior Coach, Imama Amapakabo, said the match was good and commended his team for a wonderful show.
“Notwithstanding our loss, we have looked at some grey areas and took action to enable us face the next match with Nasarawa United,” he said.
On his Part, Kabiru Togo, Wikki Tourists Technical Adviser, commended the team for putting in their best at the first match at home after playing 11 matches away.
The League Management Company had earlier banned Wikki Tourists from playing at home. The punishment over some infraction has now been lifted.
