Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti, one of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential aspirants, has abandoned his presidential ambition at the eleventh hour, asking his supporters to vote for another presidential hopeful Bola Tinubu.

Mr Fayemi followed the footsteps of ex-Governors Godswill Akpabio and Ibikunle Amosun in withdrawing from the presidential primary to support Mr Tinubu’s ambition.

Mr Fayemi announced his withdrawal while addressing delegates at the APC special national convention on Tuesday in Abuja, few hours before the voting started.

He directed his supporters to vote for Mr Tinubu instead.
