Nigerian singer Kizz Daniel has been released from police custody in Tanzania, hours after being arrested for failing to perform at a paid concert.

An update by the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission confirmed the news of the hitmaker’s release.

“UPDATE: Kizz Daniel @KizzDaniel has been released. His legal team will however report back to the police tomorrow while he will subsequently return to Nigeria,” said a tweet by the diaspora agency Monday night.

The singer was released from the Oyster Bay Police Station Civil Police in Dares Salaam, Tanzania, following his arrest which went viral in a video that saw the singer being shoved into the back of a pickup truck earlier today.

The show promoter alleged that the singer refused to perform at his concert on Sunday due to the lack of his specific gold chain, despite being paid $60,000 as appearance fee.
