Tobi Amusan defends Diamond League title, sets new record

Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan has won the women’s 100 meters hurdles event at this year’s ongoing Diamond League in Zurich, Switzerland.
Amusan clinched the trophy on Thursday evening, finishing the race in a meet-record time of 12.29 seconds to successfully defend the Diamond League title she won in 2021.
American Tia Jones came second in 12.40 seconds while Jamaica’s Britany Anderson finished a close third.
Amusan won the Diamond League trophy last year in 12.42 seconds whilst also setting an African record.
She had set a new world record of 12.12 seconds in the women’s 110m hurdles event earlier this year to win Gold at the World Athletics Championship before finishing on the podium at the just concluded Commonwealth Games.
