OFFA volleyball club (OFFA VC) have emerged champions of the 2022 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League (NVPL) after defeating Nigeria Correctional Service (NCS) 3-2 on Sunday afternoon.

It was a close encounter between the two sides in Akure, the capital city of Ondo state.

OFFA VC dominated the first set of the game, winning it 25-16 before NCS came back to grab a slim 23-25 win in the second set.

OFFA VC went ahead with a 25-17 win in the 3rd set, NCS won 4th set 17-25 to once again levelled the game for the second time.

It was a close tie in the final set of the game but OFFA VC came out victorious with a 15-11 win to clinch this year’s Men’s Nigeria Volleyball Premier League title.

Meanwhile, Nigeria Customs Service are the champions of the Women’s category of the competition. They thrashed Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps 3-0 to clinch the title on Sunday also.

We can only expect intensity when two government agencies meet but that wasn’t the case on the final day of the league in Akure.

Nigeria Customs Service won the 25-23, 27-25, 25-21 in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd sets respectively to become the latest champions of the Nigeria Volleyball Premier League.

The tournament began at the Ondo State Sports Council Indoor Hall on Wednesday, 14th September, 2022 and will end on Monday, 26th, 2022.
