Another 23 killed as terrorists continue to pillage Kaduna villages

Bandits have yet again struck some communities in Kaduna, killing no fewer than 23 persons, Samuel Aruwan, the state commissioner for internal security and home affairs disclosed in a statement on Tuesday.
The brigands attacked villages across Birnin Gwari, Giwa, Chikun, Igabi and Kauru Local Government Areas of the state in a brazen fashion.
The attacks comes barely 24 hours after bandits killed 19 persons in Kutemashi and Kujeni village.
One of the assailants was reportedly killed in Chikun local government when members of the community repelled the latest attack.
Mr. Aruwan disclosed that 10 persons were killed in Birnin Gwari LGA by the terrorists in separate attacks at Ungwan Gajere and Kutemeshi villages while three persons sustained gunshot wounds.
“In Igabi Local Government Area, bandits shot dead one Dayyabu Yahuza between Sarkin Baka and Dankyawai village, near Gidan Kurmi,” Mr. Aruwan recounted.
“In Giwa Local Government Area, armed bandits invaded Janbaba village, one Yakubu Sule was shot dead.”
“In Kishisho village, Kauru Local Government Area, gunmen suspected to be from a neighboring state killed five persons.” Mr. Aruwan said further.
The commissioner noted that five residents were killed in Gwagwada-Kasaya and Kunai village by the bandits in Chikun Local Government Area of the state.
“Similarly, in Agwa, Chikun LGA, one Bitrus Joseph was shot dead in an attack by bandits.”
“Also in Chikun Local Government Area, one bandit was killed near Bugai, when members of the community repelled an attack,” Mr. Aruwan said.
The onslaught of banditry has ravaged several communities across Kaduna State. Residents continue to decry the dastardly occurence that now appears to happen on a daily basis.
The government also seem to have run out of ideas to contain the menace and has resorted to giving vain assurances while daily reeling out number of fatalities.
