Ilorin: Gunmen attack man in broad daylight robbery

Gunmen on Monday afternoon attacked a man, Abu Sifau, in his Lexus car at Sabo-Oke, Sokoto Street in the Ilorin metropolis and stole some cash from his vehicle.
According to a witness account, the robbery was carried out at about 1:00 p.m. in the full glare of residents, shop owners and pedestrians around the area.
It was also gathered that the armed robbers, numbering four, wore masks and fired gunshots to scare people before pouncing on their target.
A witness narrated that the robbers in Toyota Camry (Muscle) car trailed the man’s Lexus car with the number plate marked ‘Sarkin Samarin Bacita’.
“The car should be that of a traditional title holder in Bacita in the Edu local government area of Kwara. The Lexus car was going on the street, with two people inside the vehicle, when suddenly the Toyota Camry (muscle) overtook it and carted away (a) large sum of money,” stated the witness.
No one was injured in the robbery attack near an abandoned government-owned refuse disposal truck the community had called for its removal.
The police spokesman in Kwara, Okasanmi Ajayi, said he was unaware of the robbery.
