The police have taken into custody eight domestic staff of music star David Adeleke, popularly known as ‘Davido’, following the drowning of his three-year-old son at his residence on Monday.

Peoples Gazette had earlier reported that the three-year-old Ifeanyi Adeleke drowned in a pool.

Davido’s son was pulled out of the pool and taken to a hospital in Lagos but did not make it.

The police spokesman in Lagos, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed that the drowning happened at Davido’s residence, adding that an investigation into the matter was ongoing.

“Yes, we have invited eight people over the death of his son,” Mr Hundeyin said.

Davido and Chioma Rowland recently celebrated their son’s third birthday on October 20.

The family has yet to issue a statement about the incident.

Meanwhile, many Nigerian celebrities, including Iyabo Ojo, Ayo Makun, Toyin Abraham, Daddy Freeze, Eniola Badmus and others, have sympathised with the couple
