Teenager in court for stealing N8,000 phone

The police on Monday arraigned an 18-year-old boy, Emmanuel Patrick, at an Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court over alleged stealing.
The defendant, of no fixed address, is standing trial on a charge of stealing.
The police prosecutor, Sodiq Adeniyi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence at about 2:00 a.m. on November 12 at Odo-Ado in Ado-Ekiti.
Mr Adeniyi alleged that the defendant stole one itel phone valued at N8,000 belonging to one Olusola Felicia, an offence he said contravened section 302(a) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ekiti State, 2021.
He urged the court to adjourn the case to enable him to study the case file and assemble his witnesses.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against him.
