Housewife prays court to compel husband to take care of ill son
A housewife, Rabi’atu Ahmad, on Tuesday, prayed a Sharia court in the Rigasa area of Kaduna to compel her husband, Adamu Aliyu, to take care of their ill son.
The complainant told the court that their son had been suffering from a heart disease which required surgery.
“My husband has refused to source funds for the surgery. We were hospitalised at the teaching hospital in Kaduna, but my husband sought a discharge without the doctor’s approval.
“We are currently on medication since we can’t afford the surgery. He refuses to buy the medicines saying he was tired,” she said.
The defendant said he was not financially buoyant.
The judge, Abubakar Salisu-Tureta, ordered the defendant to take the child back to the hospital for medical care as soon as possible.
He adjourned the matter on December 12.
