May was the month when United Kingdom searches for cryptocurrency were most likely to reach their peak, according to a recent study by crypto trading platform tradingbrowser.com.

In order to determine the UK’s High-Alert Crypto Month in 2022, an analysis of search volumes for 22 crypto search terms related to news, security, and trading in digital currencies was conducted.

“May emerged as the UK’s Crypto High-Alert month, with seven of 22 keyword searches spiking to their highest search level of 2022 during the month.

“The month saw the keywords: ‘Crypto’, ‘Crypto Prices’, ‘Crypto Crash’, ‘Coin Market Cap’, ‘Luna Crypto’, ‘Coin Base’, and ‘Binance’ hitting their highest points. Searches for ‘Luna Crypto’ exploded by 1,731 per cent this month,” the report read.

The report also showed that three search terms reached their peak on Google in February, the UK’s second Crypto High-Alert month. These include “Bitcoin scam,” which saw a 106 per cent increase in search volume above average, “Is Crypto safe,” which saw an 189 per cent increase, and “Blockchain,” with a 50 per cent increase.

The most popular search terms for the second high alert month revealed a rise in skepticism among Brits regarding the security of cryptocurrencies.

The highest spike for two crypto keywords occurred in November. After the CEO of Google, Sam Bankman-Fried, filed for bankruptcy, FTX exploded by 936 per cent on Google.

Also In November, searches for “Crypto Wallet” increased by 190 per cent, indicating an interest in coin purchases.

On the list of months with a lot of searches for cryptocurrency was January, which saw a 241 per cent and 133 per cent increase in searches for NFT and cryptocurrency, respectively.

The explosive NFT search in January was related to the use of the technology by brands and celebrities.

During the month of June, searches for Bitcoin and Ethereum both grew by 168 per cent and 102 per cent respectively.
