Governor David Umahi has declared Thursday and Friday public holidays in Ebonyi for residents to collect Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

Mr Umahi announced this on Monday in a statement by the commissioner for information, Uchenna Orji.

He said this was in consideration of the Independent National Electoral Commission’s deadline for collecting PVC nationwide.

“This is to enable the good people of Ebonyi, who are yet to collect their PVCs, to proceed to their respective local government PVC collection centres to collect theirs, bearing in mind that the last day of collection is Sunday, January 29,” Mr Umahi said.
