The Federal Bureau of Investigation on Friday thoroughly searched former U.S. Vice President Mike Pence Indiana home for classified documents.

This follows a disclosure by his attorneys of having found a small number of classified documents at the home of the former vice president last month.

An adviser for Mr pence confirmed that additional classified files were removed by the FBI following the search. He also confirmed that Mr Pence agreed to the search of his Indiana home.

“The Department of Justice completed a thorough and unrestricted search of five hours and removed one document with classified markings and six additional pages without such markings that were not discovered in the initial review by the vice-president’s counsel,” said adviser Devin O’Malley in a statement on Friday.

The search is the latest development in a controversy over classified documents involving former U.S. President Donald Trump and the incumbent president Joe Biden.

Earlier on, classified documents were found at Mr Biden’s Delaware home and his private Washington DC office, leading to a search of his home on February 1.
