Man stabbed to death in Anambra over N1,600 cash dispute

A scrap dealer was stabbed to death by his colleagues over a cash dispute of N1,600 at Tarzan Junction, Nkpor, in the Idemili North council area of Anambra.
The deceased was said to have a long-standing dispute on the cash-sharing formula with his colleagues following a just-concluded deal.
The dispute dragged on until a trader was invited to resolve the dispute.
The resolution favoured the deceased, who turned down an invitation to the bar by the assailants, according to an eyewitness who preferred anonymity.
“The deceased ignored the invitation knowing fully well their intention as the resolution was not in their favour. They eventually caught him on his bike the same day, and one of them stabbed him in his neck and head with a broken bottle,” the witness stated. “He slumped, and the assailants fled.”
The police spokesman in Anambra, Tochukwu Ikenga, stated that he was unaware of the incident.
