UNIBEN announces dates for 52nd convocation activities

The University of Benin (UNIBEN) has announced November 23 to 28 for its 52nd Convocation and 56th Founders’ Day celebrations.
Benedicta Ehanire, the university’s spokeswoman, disclosed this in a statement on Friday.
She said the six-day programme would commence on November 23, with a Founders’ Day Interfaith Service scheduled for 10:00 a.m.
The service would be followed by the Founders’ Day Lecture to be delivered by the chief executive officer of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan.
Ms Ehanire said the convocation lecture would hold on November 26, with former chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission and presidential adviser on livestock reform, Attahiru Jega, as guest lecturer.
“The convocation ceremony continues with conferment of first degrees on Friday, 27th November and will climax on Saturday, 28th November, with the conferment of higher degrees, honorary doctorate degrees, and professor emeritus,” she said.
She added that the vice-chancellor, Edoba Omoregie, a senior advocate of Nigeria, would hold a news conference ahead of the ceremonies.
