Newcastle beat Manchester United, move to third place on EPL log

Newcastle boosted their Champions League qualification chance on Sunday, beating Manchester United 2-0 at St James’ Park in the English Premier League.
The Magpies moved third place on the EPL log, displacing United by goal difference.
Sunday’s game looked like it would end without goals as both teams struggled into first half break without goals. But the home side returned into the game much stronger, creating and taking their chance to win the game.
With Brazilian talisman, Casemiro, missing in action, United gave Newcastle no hard fight in Sunday game.
Newcastle got a deserved lead in the 65th minute courtesy of former Arsenal boy Joseph Willock’s header.
Callum Wilson sealed Newcastle’s victory, burying Trippier’s free kicks into De Gea’ net with a brilliant header in the 88th minute.
With Sunday’s result, Newcastle now have 50 points in 27 games, edging United by goal difference on the EPL log.
