N5 million, phones recovered at crash scene in Zaria: FRSC
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) recovered N5,020,660 and 10 phones from road crash victims on the Kaduna-Zaria road.
This is contained in a statement by FRSC’s spokesman Bisi Kazeem.
The corps marshal, Dauda Biu, said no lives were lost.
Mr Biu said the crash, which occurred at about 1:01 p.m. on Monday, involved one Toyota Hiance white bus with registration number KTG13XG.
The FRSC boss said the cause of the crash was a tyre blowout, adding that the lone crash left passengers of the vehicle with fractures, cuts and bruises. He said out of the 11 people involved, eight were injured, and three had no injuries.
“The N5,020,660, 10 phones and other luggage shall be presented to the family soonest. The injured victims have been taken to the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH) Shika for medical treatment. The palm oil and others were handed over to the chairman of the palm oil sellers union,” he disclosed.
Mr Biu added, “The vehicle was towed to base while the recovered money was handed over to the duty room, and obstruction was cleared successfully.”
The corps marshal commended the Zaria unit command patrol teams for their commitment to ensuring the safety of the people and for their honesty.
He also expressed gratitude to the operatives for their resilience, professionalism and excellent synergy with other security agencies in their areas of responsibility.
Mr Biu urged them and their peers nationwide to maintain the current momentum charging them and their colleagues to continue raising the bar.
