Kebbi State governor-elect, Nasir Idris, has appealed to traditional rulers in the state to shun political differences and support his administration to move the state forward.

His aide, Ahmed Idris, quoted him as making the appeal when the district head of Aliero, Umar Dodo, paid Sallah homage.

Mr Idris said the plea became imperative because of the crucial role played by traditional institutions in smooth governance.

He assured that his administration would operate an open-door policy and welcome all lovers of Kebbi.

“It is not hidden that not all traditional rulers supported my election. That is not my concern today, however.

“My aim is to work with everyone who can make my objective of turning Kebbi into a small London achievable.

“I will do everything within the law to support traditional rulers in the state,’’ he said and appealed to the latter to support his administration to take Kebbi to greater heights of development.

Earlier, Mr Dodo said he and his entourage were visiting to rejoice with Mr Idris on his victory at the polls.

“We supported you, and we shall support your administration to succeed,’’ he assured.
