On Tuesday, a multiple auto crash on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway left one person dead and five others injured.

FRSC spokeswoman in Ogun, Florence Okpe, said the crash involved seven males and one female as five vehicles and two motorbikes.

Two persons escaped unhurt.

Ms Okpe attributed the crash to speeding and wrongful overtaking.

The FRSC official also stated that the driver of a truck involved in the crash lost control due to brake failure, ramming into other vehicles before plunging into a river.

Another vehicle went up in flames due to the collision.

“The corpse has been deposited at the General Hospital, Ota, while the survivors are receiving treatment at the same hospital,’’ Ms Okpe added.

The FRSC sector commander in Ogun, Ahmed Umar, advised motorists to desist from dangerous driving.
