On Monday, an area court in Jos sentenced a mason, Jude Danjuma, to three months imprisonment for unlawful possession of live cartridges.

Magistrate Shawomi Bokkos sentenced the convict after he pleaded guilty to the offence and begged the court for leniency.

The magistrate also gave the convict an option of N10,000 fine.

Earlier, the police prosecutor, Ibrahim Gokwat, told the court that the case was reported by the anti-cult unit of the state police headquarters on April 29.

While on routine patrol at West of Mines axis, he said the anti-cult team arrested the accused person possessing three live cartridges.

The prosecutor further told the court that during the police investigation, the accused confessed to having committed the offence.
