12 persons nabbed for armed robbery, cultism, murder in Osun

The police command in Osun, on Tuesday, said it arrested 12 suspects in June over alleged armed robbery, membership in unlawful society and murder.
SP Yemisi Opalola, the command’s public relations Officer, made this known at the state police headquarters in Osogbo, the state capital.
Ms Opalola said the police arrested the suspects in different locations across the state.
She said the armed robbery gang comprised three members who robbed two state residents in November 2022 and January and made away with their vehicles.
The PRO said an investigation led operatives of the command to River State, where the two vehicles, a Toyota Corolla 2004 and 2006 models, were recovered.
Ms Opalola added that the investigation revealed that one of the suspects registered the stolen vehicles in his name and sold them in Port-Harcourt, Rivers, at N2.5 million each before they were recovered.
She said another suspect was apprehended on Saturday, at 4:00 p.m., by officers of the anti-cultism squad in connection with the murder of one Segun Agbadayi.
The command’s spokesperson said the suspect was reported to have killed the deceased following a transaction they did together in Ilesa.
Ms Opalola said an investigation was ongoing on the cases, and the suspects would be prosecuted when completed.
